Millburn and Short Hills are my hometown. I attended Deerfield School in Short Hills when it was brand new and graduated from Millburn High School, and my office is on Millburn Avenue. Buyers come here for one of New Jersey’s top school districts, a direct train to Penn Station, and a choice between Millburn’s lively town center and Short Hills’ estate-style streets.

Me in front of our family’s new home in Short Hills, back when the house was still going up. This isn’t a market I moved to; it’s the only one I’ve ever known.

Millburn Township is one municipality with two personalities: Millburn in the east and south, and Short Hills in the north and west, with its own train station and post office.

Life here

The Mall at Short Hills brings luxury shopping. Paper Mill Playhouse has been a regional theater landmark since 1934. About half of South Mountain Reservation lies in the township, and the Cora Hartshorn Arboretum is a quiet favorite. In town, my go-to restaurants are La Pergola and Vinnie’s, and Dilli Dilli has just opened. My favorite place to shop is The Life, and of course the mall. If you are looking for a salon that can do it all, Dolce is the one. Ask for Dea for color and Jen for cut and styling, and let them know Perri sent you.

How Millburn & Short Hills compare

Buyers often weigh Short Hills against Summit and Madison. Short Hills has the highest price range of the three and the most estate-style lots. Some of my clients arrive certain they want Short Hills and end up loving Madison. Buyers looking for value next door also look at Springfield, which has a jitney to the Short Hills station.
