Springfield Township is located in Union Country just 25 miles southwest of New York City and only 14 minutes from Newark International Airport. Interstate 78, which has an exit for Springfield, slices through the northern part of the township. Springfield is five square miles and home to Hidden Valley Park and world renown Baltusrol Golf Club.
Downtown Springfield is less than a mile from I-78 so access is quite easy and shopping on Morris Avenue or Route 22 will find every need met. Springfield is known for being a quiet community filled with all of the amenities found in the more expensive surrounding towns. Homes are affordable and Union Counties lower taxes make Springfield a very desirable community.
The 114 New Jersey Transit bus to Port Authority is available from various points within Springfield and the ride takes about 40-45 minutes. In addition, a jitney service is provided from the municipal pool to the Short Hills train station during rush hours. Some Springfield residents live close enough to the station to walk.
